Summer shows are short — roughly five minutes — so arrive 15–20 minutes early. They’re launched from the Niagara Gorge between the American and Horseshoe Falls, so they can be seen from both the Canadian and U.S. sides.

Nightly Falls Illumination
Every night of the year, the Falls are lit in changing colours starting at dusk. Illumination starts as early as ~4:30 p.m. in November–December and as late as ~8:30 p.m. in early summer, and typically runs until 1:00–2:00 a.m. Special colour themes are used for holidays and awareness causes, so it’s worth checking what’s planned during your visit.

Best Free Viewing Spots (Canadian Side)
- Queen Victoria Park — the classic spot. The grassy park and the stone parapet wall along the Niagara Parkway look straight at both falls. Get to the railing by 9:40 p.m. in July–August.
- Table Rock / Journey Behind the Falls area — right at the brink of the Horseshoe Falls, with the fireworks slightly to your left over the gorge.
- Queen Victoria Place Restaurant terrace — book a late dinner and watch from your table.
- Rainbow Bridge approach / Clifton Hill bottom — less crowded, looks up the gorge at both falls.
