Flying
The fastest option. Several airlines fly New York (JFK, LGA, EWR) to Buffalo Niagara International Airport. From BUF it’s about 30 minutes by car to Niagara Falls, NY — slightly longer to the Canadian side. Read our Buffalo guide.
Driving
The drive takes you across Pennsylvania or upstate New York — typically 6.5–7.5 hours without long stops. Having a car makes it easy to visit both sides and wine country. Train
Amtrak’s routes from New York Penn Station to Niagara Falls, NY run along the Hudson Valley — a beautiful but long ride of around 9 hours. The station is a short taxi ride from the Falls.
Bus
Intercity buses run from Manhattan to Buffalo and Niagara Falls. It’s the cheapest option but the slowest, and connections can be less convenient.
